Teresa Chambel was invited, with two other Professors from the FCUL Informatics Department, Pedro Veiga and Luís Correia, to participate as invited speakers at the first E-Tech Portugal conference, held in early June 2016, in Setúbal, Portugal. Teresa Chambel participated in the panel gathered around the topic "As TICE têm Sexo ?" (Does ICT have gender ?), with the objective to raise the awareness and interest of the Portuguese society about the importance of the participation and success of women in the area of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
The article "Snooping on Mobile Phones: Prevalence and Trends" with authorship of LaSIGE's researchers, Diogo Marques, Tiago Guerreiro and Luis Carriço, in collaboration with researchers from the University of British Columbia, Canada, received the "Distinguished Paper Award " at SOUPS conference (Symposium on Usable Privacy and Security), which is currently taking place (June 22-24) in Denver, Colorado, USA.
LaSIGE is supporting the organization of the iV 2016 - 20th International Conference Information Visualisation that aims to focus on the interdisciplinary methods and affiliated research done among various science disciplines, medicine, engineering, media and commerce.

The joint study agreement between FCUL and IBM Research has been extended for one year.
