Since 2004, LASIGE and the Department of Forest Engineering (DEF/CEF) of ISA have collaborated in the developement of decision support tools and implementation of heuristic procedures for solving complex optimization projects in forest management and planning. From this collaboration several publications emerged and systems were developed that are used in private companies and forest associations in Portugal.
