LASIGE researchers, students, and collaborators promote monthly workshops at Fundação Raquel and Martin Sain to tutor blind people in using technology.

Sara Silva, who has recently won a Principal Investigator contract from FCT, has been invited to present her goals for the next five years within the LASIGE center to the general audience, including school students. The event will take place on the afternoon of the 31st of October, at Teatro Thalia.
The FCUL team Caracóis Hipocondríacos won the 3rd place at the national inter-universities programming contest, earning the silver medal. One of the three contestants, Nuno Burnay is a junior researcher at LASIGE, where he is developing his Masters Thesis on verification of protocol conformance in REST APIs.
LASIGE and OpenLab are engaged in several collaborations, including the exchange of junior researchers, invited talks, and writing/participating in collaborative projects.

Nuno Neves, integrated LASIGE member, was invited as a cyber-security expert to be part of a panel at SIC Notícias about the recent hacks that divulged private Benfica emails.
Nuno Neves is the coordinator of the Resilient Distributed and Networked Systems at LASIGE, and a Full Professor at the Department of Informats at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon.
LASIGE was features on the Perspetivas appendix of Jornal Público, one of the largest newspapers in Portugal.

LASIGE will be present in Encontro Ciência 2018, the largest scientific forum in Portugal. LASIGE senior researchers will be presenting 3 oral communications and 2 demos. The winner and runner-up of the 2017 LASIGE best poster awards will also be at the event presenting the winning works.
The 3rd edition of the LASIGE Workshop was held at the beginning of this month (June 2018) at the Ciências@ULisboa. It provided an interesting debate space for its (more than 65) participants.
