Immersive Media Experiences 2015 co-organized by LaSIGE

Teresa Chambel is co-organizing the Immersive Media Experiences Workshop @ACM Multimedia 2015, taking place in Brisbane, Australia, on October 26-30, 2015.
This international workshop was created by the chairs, from LaSIGE @ULisboa, INESC-TEC, UTAustin, MIT Media Lab and BBC, at the premier international conference on multimedia: ACM Multimedia. This is the 3rd edition of the workshop, after the first successful editions in Barcelona, Spain, in 2013, and in Orlando, FL, USA in 2014.

3 full papers @ ACM ASSETS 2015

LaSIGE recently received the notification of 3 papers accepted in the prestigious conference ACM ASSETS 2015, the flagship conference for accessible computing. This year edition will be held in Lisbon, Portugal from October 26th to 28th, 2015.

W4A 2016 - General Chair

The next W4A 2016 - 13th Web for All Conference, to be held in Montreal, Canada 2016, will be co-chaired by Tiago Guerreiro from LaSIGE and Greg Gay from Ryerson University, Canada. The conference is going to be held in Montreal, Canada, co-located with WWW 2016.

Agreement with Accenture

GLOSS Seminar: Juliana Franco, Imperial College London

The next GLOSS Seminar will be presented by Juliana Franco, an ex-Gloss/LaSIGE research member, who his currently pursuing her PhD at Imperial College of London, UK. Her talk, with the title "Ownership and Reference Counting based Garbage Collection in the Actor World", will occur at FCUL|DI room 6.3.05, next thursday, July 2nd, 2015, at 11h30m.

FCUL Rally Pro - 3rd edition

1st Workshop on Safety and Security of Intelligent Vehicles (SSIV 2015) co-organized by LaSIGE member

António Casimiro is co-organizing the 1st Workshop on Safety and Security of Intelligent Vehicles (SSIV 2015), that will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 22, 2015, co-located with the DSN 2015 Conference. The goal of this workshop is to explore the challenges and innovative solutions regarding Intelligent Vehicles, considering the implications of security and real-time issues on safety and certification, which emerge when introducing networked, autonomous and cooperative functionalities.

LaSIGE researchers participate as experts at Spanish research project

Luís Carriço and Carlos Duarte participated at the 1st eGovernAbility project meeting, that took place in Spain, from June 15 to 16, 2015. The project is funded by Spanish Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness) and both researchers are involved as experts, contributing with techniques and methodologies to develop multidevice software.
